Maybe they have I just don't know where to look. Enlarge / The default wallpaper for macOS Catalina.

It seems that Apple should notify people if they suddenly stop providing security updates for their product.
#APPLE IOS MACOS CATALINA WEBKIT UPDATE#
Are there postings on this somewhere that Apple has issued that would help us get the latest info? I looked but just saw the update for Monterey.
#APPLE IOS MACOS CATALINA WEBKIT PATCH#
Hopefully it either is irrelevant or Apple is working hard to issue the fixes for Big Sur and Catalina. 18, 3:45 p.m.: Apple has released the Safari 15.6.1 update for macOS Big Sur and Catalina to patch the WebKit vulnerability it fixed in macOS Monterey yesterday. This would mean overnight millions of devices would be no longer safe to use if they cannot be updated. Some are advising that if you do not update or the updates are no longer supported on your device, that it is unsafe to use older OS or hardware that does not support Monterey. Apple is urging people to update immediately to iOS and iPadOS 14.8, macOS Big Sur 11.6, Security Update 2021-005 for macOS Catalina (and Safari 14.1.2), tvOS 14.7, and watchOS 7.6.2. Of particular note is the number of features that enhance website compatibility to bring a true desktop-class web browsing experience to Safari on iPadOS. Reports indicate bad actors have already started using both exploits. There were two zero day vulnerabilities in Webkit. Apple on Tuesday released a new version of Safari to address a pair of zero-day WebKit vulnerabilities that were reportedly exploited in the wild. This year’s releases of Safari 13 for macOS Catalina, iPadOS, iOS 13, and watchOS 6 include a tremendous number of WebKit improvements for the web across Apple’s platforms. WebKit is the platform underpinning Apples Mail app, Safari, and all iOS web browsers. Some are advising that if you do not update or the updates are no longer supported on your device, that it is unsafe to use older OS or hardware that does not support Monterey. Is this security vulnerability also relevant to BIg Sur and Catalina? If it is, will Apple also release the patch/security update? Any popover that contains a WebKit View crashes the extension in Catalina Beta 1-3 and Safari 13. There were two zero day vulnerabilities in Webkit. Apple just released a patch for what I can understand is a major vulnerability to Monterey and ios devices that support the latest versions of software.
